Purple App Review | Getting Gas Has Never Been This Fun

Purple App Review: Get ready for gas delivery

I drive a lot.

I feel like I spend a large portion of my life slowly crawling along highways next to other commuters. When I am heading home the last thing I want to do is stop anywhere. Especially when that stop includes a gas station that smells like fuel. Luckily I just discovered that I don’t have to any more.

Purple App Delivers You Gas

I’m beginning to think there is an app for everything. So when I discovered that the Purple App would deliver gas to my car I wasn’t all that surprised. What did surprise me was just how well the Purple App worked when I tried it out.

How It Works

The Purple app is very simple to use. Create an account with your phone number and credit card info. Then add your car details so they can identify your car. The last step is put in the cars location and request when you want your gas.

If it sounds overly simple that is because it is. They give you a window of time that someone will come out to your car. I often request it for when I get home. I go to bed and when I get in my car the next day it is full of gas.

It Works “Almost” All The Time

While I have had nothing but great experiences with Purple, my friend had a slightly more frustrating first experience. They called him up because he had parked with his gas tank facing away from the street. He had to go out to his car and re-park it.

Ironically, a few weeks later purple changed the way they filled up your car and parking with your gas tank facing out no longer mattered. What does matter is that you make sure the gas cap isn’t locked. Purple will have to call you if they don’t have access to your vehicles gas tank.

Purple App Pricing

The cost of gas near me at the station is currently $3.29 a gallon. The price I see on the Purple App is $3.49. So expect to pay a little more for each gallon that you have delivered to your car. Purple also charges a $5.99 delivery fee which they will waive if you become a monthly member of purple. (I have found that signing up to the purple newsletter gives me a free delivery coupon every couple of weeks.) New users should also use Purple Promo Code B4TFZ to get $5 off your first gas fill up.

Pros

  • The Gas comes to you
  • Super easy to use the Purple App
  • I have never had any trouble with gas fill ups
  • Save $5 on your first fill up with code: B4TFZ

Cons

  • Prices are a little higher than at the gas station
  • Car needs to be accessible (parked on the street)
