Firmness and support

The GhostBed uses a unique combination of latex and memory foam. The two layers work together to give a new type of sleep. The Ghost Bed an initial firmness of 8. After a few minutes, the bed softens significantly. The latex giving way to the memory foam beneath.

The result was a great support that still cushioned the body. Our research found that back and side sleepers both loved the feel of the Ghost Bed Mattress. The firmness rating dropped a whole point down to a 7. The GhostBed is firm but soft at the same time. The firmness of the GhostBed was well balanced.

Over time the Ghost Bed Mattress did seem to soften. Though never at the expense of back and spine support. The GhostBed supported the body without creating any unnecessary pressure. The GhostBed is 11″ tall, an extra inch more than other mattresses. This gives more thickness for the firm foundation and the soft memory foam. Nature’s Sleep has found something great with the GhostBed Mattress.

Sinkage

The GhostBed sunk an average of 2 inches. Lighter sleepers will find they sink around 1-1.5 inches. Two inches seems like a lot for such a firm mattress. We found in our GhostBed review that sleepers will sink gradually as the latex gives way to the memory foam.

The smooth transition made for a great sleep. Sleepers will get the benefit of a firm, supporting mattress. They will also find a soft comfortable sleep. The GhostBed mixes the two attributes well.

GhostBed Coolness and Gas.

The GhostBed is a cool mattress. The two inches of latex provide a great heat sink. Hot air flows out of the GhostBed as quickly as your body creates it. Nature’s sleep was smart to put the latex layer on top. Memory foam is the material that absorbs and holds heat. By putting the memory foam beneath the latex, the GhostBed remains cool.

Some customers reported a bit of Off-Gassing when first opening the Ghost Bed. That is easily fixable by opening the doors and windows to air out the room. We recommend giving the GhostBed and hour or two before you sleep on it.

The GhostBed has 3 layers of foam and latex. They have taken a unique approach by adding an extra half and inch to their foam and latex layers. The result is an 11″ mattress, 1 inch thicker than the competitors. This way the customers ends up with a richer and more comfortable sleep.
